Mount Assiniboine from Cascade Mountain

imageI was really kindly invited by Laura Cooper’s New England Photo Blog to take part in a five day black and white photo challenge.

So for day 2 of the challenge I’ve chosen a photo I took whilst hiking up Cascade Mountain in Banff National Park. It was one of my favourite and most rewarding hikes of last summer. The photo isn’t of Cascade Mountain itself, but of Mount Assiniboine which is the largest mountain in the centre of the photograph. It looks a little like the Matterhorn and has the nickname of the ‘Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies’ because of the similarities between the two!

As part of the challenge you nominate a blogger friend each day to join in and take part. So today I nominate exploRVistas who always have interesting stories of their travels to share.

The only rules of the challenge are:

1. On five consecutive days, create a post using a recent or past photograph in black and white.

2. Invite another blogging friend each day to join in the challenge.

I hope you enjoy the photos!
